Basics of Canine Urgent Care

Melissa Lennon will provide an educational session focused on mental health, including an overview of mental states and common mental illnesses. She will address the stigma that often surrounds mental health concerns and explore practical ways community members can help reduce that stigma.

In addition, Melissa will review available treatment options, highlighting the differences between inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. She will also share information about Altru’s Behavioral Health Center and offer guidance on how and when to make appropriate referrals.

Director of Business Development, Altru

Melissa Lennon serves as the Director of Business Development for Altru Inpatient Behavioral Health. A Grand Forks native, Melissa continues to call the community home, where she lives with her family. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, and went on to serve the Grand Forks region as a Physical Therapist in a variety of roles, supporting patients across multiple care settings.


In January 2025, Melissa joined Altru’s Behavioral Health team. Since then, she has focused on strengthening community understanding of behavioral health, reducing the stigma surrounding mental health, and highlighting the ways Altru supports individuals in need of compassionate, comprehensive care. Her work centers on building connections, expanding access, and ensuring that behavioral health resources are visible and approachable for all.
